Sheffield Quakers will be welcoming the public to their own mini ‘Open Studio’ event. We are having an Arts and Crafts Show throughout the weekend of October 12th and 13th, probably open 11 – 5 on Saturday and 12 – 4.30 on Sunday. (Precise details to be supplied later.) We hope to show off a whole range of creativity, covering:
- traditional art work (oils, watercolours, acrylics),
- contemporary art forms (produced on computer),
- live music,
- crafts such as weaving, knitting, tapestry, jewellery making,
- books by Quaker authors,
- home baking, jams, preserves etc.
We hope also to showcase Quakers’ innovative approach to recycling and sustainability – also an aspect of being ‘creative’. There’s probably more possibilities than those listed above – please consider how YOU could get involved with this project, which will be good outreach (promoting ourselves to the big wide world out there), a great chance to enjoy working together and also have fund-raising potential too.
