Support Group for Bamford Quaker Community

From the Bamford Quaker Community (

Dear Friends,

We are writing to ask you for expressions of interest in joining the Support
Group for the Community here from amongst your ranks of seasoned Friends and

As you probably know, the present Community is relatively new, having only
really started up about this time last year. Our vision for the Community is
to be a place of retreat and resource for Quakers and others, and as such we
will be limiting our resident community to between 10 and 12 adults so we
have rooms for those who come here on our programmed retreats or to spend
time here recharging their spiritual batteries.

Our Support Group has been, and continues to be, invaluable in helping us
through the initial stages of getting both the Community and the retreat
programme established. They attend our business meetings (approximately 6
weekly) and give us guidance and support in everything from relationships to
book-keeping and building works, and we are immensely grateful to them for
their upholding.

We have always intended that the group should have a changing membership,
and this has now become a matter of some urgency, as two of the original
five are moving away from the local area. We are in any case at the stage
where the 3 years of service is due for review, and would very much
appreciate it if you could raise this at your Meeting and let us have the
names of those who are interested in taking it further.

Many thanks for your help,
