Jobs: We are recruiting for three new jobs, to complete our staff team, are now advertised on the Sheffield Quaker website. We are looking for a team leader to work 3 days each week, and two evening support workers to each work 2 evenings a week. Look at the ‘jobs’ tab to see full details. Final date for applications is 7th October.
Forthcoming events
On Tuesday, 22nd September, our staff member Linsay is running a coffee morning in aid of Macmillan. She would welcome contributions of cakes and buns, as well as lots of people.
On Saturday September 26th at Sheffield Central Meeting House Soul Work’s morning of exploration will focus on compassion, using the parable of the Good Samaritan – Luke 10: 30 – 37. A deeper understanding of compassion is at the heart of all true religion and during our exploration we will be using a variety of approaches to engage our minds, emotions and sensations. Next Sunday is an extended Meeting for Worship starting at 9.30 a.m. Friends are free to come and go as needed.

Quakers in York are putting on a lecture series again this year starting on 2nd October with speakers such as Diana Francis: for more information, please see the noticeboard.
On Monday, 12th October at 7.15 an event will be held here at the Meeting House entitled: A Different Kind of Courage – Conscientious Objectors in the 1st World War. This will be an illustrated talk given by Andrew Greaves as part of the Off the Shelf Festival – please publicise it as much as you can.
Quakers in Yorkshire are meeting at Bootham School in York on Saturday 17th October. The topics for consideration are the work of Quaker Schools, Britain Yearly Meeting’s Hospitality Company and the Transatlantic Trade & Investment Partnership (TTIP), which is attracting a lot of attention at present.
