We have done this before and found that people liked it… an opportunity for a much larger number of Friends and attenders to experience a Quaker business meeting, and to share in the process of considering a topic of importance. Our topic on Sunday 3rd October will be:
The ministry of giving: how do we support ourselves and one another as a meeting and in our wider Quaker family?
This was decided at our business meeting in July and the topic emerged very naturally from the agenda item on the 2009 accounts, and an item about continuing to support financially a particular project. Quakers are naturally exercised by the conflict between generous support of good causes, but also wise and careful use of limited resources. More information and detail will be provided before 3rd October.
