Volunteers for CRESST at Peace In The Park - 9th June

CRESST (Conflict Resolution Education in Sheffield Schools) has been chosen as one of the two causes to benefit from this year’s Peace in the Park festival. This is really good news because we hope it will raise our profile with children and young people as well as raising some money.

The free Peace in the Park festival is on Saturday 9th June in Ponderosa Park (map) from 12.00 – 8.00pm. It promotes peace and understanding by bringing together communities through artistic, musical and vocal expression. Peace in the Park is organised by a group of artists, musicians, students, events organisers and other everyday Sheffield folk, working together in a not for profit collective.

There will be music, cabaret, circus perfomers, children’s activities, lots of food, an exhibition from the Bradford Peace Museum and a “bicycle bonanza”. Find out more on http://www.peaceinthepark.org.uk .
All money donated on the day will be split between CRESST and Names Not Numbers. So we need to find as many volunteers as we can to help with collecting. Obviously you want to be there with your friends and family enjoying the event … but could you spare an hour or two going round with a collection bucket? You need to be willing to engage with people and encourage them to give and tell them briefly about CRESST if they ask.

If you think you might be willing please talk to Sam Robinson, Gillian Hind, Margaret Edmonds or Gordon Ferguson or reply to this email.
