Quakers across Britain have demonstrated their support for the Occupy movement both individually and collectively, as we recognise its resonance with many aspects of our core testimonies. As part of the Occupy London Stock Exchange camp, a meeting for worship has been established to offer visible support to the camp and the wider movement. They have drafted this powerful epistle detailing their involvement with the protest, and the connections they see between Quaker practices and this emerging social movement:

Housemates wanted

Colette Cameron is looking for two new tenants to live with her in a house on Vincent road, Sharrow.
The house has a woodburner in the living room, all mod cons and a little cat.

The next Art Group meeting

On April 7th at 12.00 at the Meeting House.
We will be doing some sketching – if fantastic weather we could go out into Cathedral Square. If not, we will be indoors. We can also add more the the Living Witness board as it has to organically’spread out’.

30 March: UNA Sheffield branch invite you to a talk by Dr Rory Ridley-Duff who will be speaking on 2012 International Year of Co-operatives. Dr Rory Ridley-Duff is course leader for the Msc Co-operative and Social Enterprise Management degree at Sheffield Hallam University. He will be exploring questions such a What are the aims of the International Year of Co-operatives? How do co-operatives work? Sit-in-peace, March 31 2pm-4pm Deer Shelter Skyspace Yorkshire Sculpture Park

This is an event in simultaneous sympathy (or empathy?) with the one in Trafalgar Square led by Thich Nhat Hanh (http://www.mindfulnessretreats.org.uk/sitinpeace/). With others across the world we shall sit in the power of quiet reflection in and around the Yorkshire Skyspace.
