An evening of beautiful chanting and recitation from four faith traditions, featuring
Islamic nasheeds (spiritual songs)
Sikh Simran (remembrance of God)
Nembutsu (calling the name of the Buddha) from the Amida Buddhist tradition.
Christian chants from the Taizé community in France

Sheffield Climate Alliance www.sheffieldclimatealliance.net is hosting an Ethical Money Marketplace as part of the Climate Coalition organised ‘Speak Up’ week of action https://weekofaction.org.uk/.

You will be able to get information and talk to people from organisations involved in, for example, banking, pensions, community investments, phone and internet providers, retail and energy companies.

Bring something to share for lunch, drinks are provided. Some art materials are provided. There is a small donation of £10 towards the upkeep of the Meeting House.

We regret that disabled access is limited and we have no disabled toilet at present.

Double Joy Fund-raiser - Sat. 10th Sept. 6-10pm

Double Joy Fundraiser on Saturday 10th September, 6pm until 10pm at Sheffield Central Quaker Meeting House. Free entry.

Our very talented Naomi and Donald will be treating us to their gorgeous bluesy melodies. You will have a chance to offer your skills and talents to fellow friends in a mini auction. (eg offers to bake a cake, lesson in map reading, write a poem….)

And… Gordon and “Horace the Horse” will be very bravely shaving/waxing their hairy legs for Double Joy.

Help with cleaning the Meeting House - Alison not well

Alison is in the Hallamshire Hospital Ward G1 – she is really poorly with a really bad infection.

Liz the team Leader is on holiday as are Christine and Anthony.

So that leaves Chriss, Linsay and Carole to hold the fort for the next two weeks

They really really beg and plead for help with the August clean down which is taking place Tuesday 23rd and Wednesday 24th 9am – 1pm.

Lunch will be provided, as well as lots of coffee and chat, and there is also Wednesday Meeting fro Worship, 1-1.30pm
