Exploring Quakerism Monday June 13th 2016 8-9.30pm

Exploring Quakerism Monday June 13th 2016
8.00pm – 9.30pm

This session will be led by Linda Hoy from the Sheffield Central Quaker Meeting.

What does Quakerism mean to you? Porridge? Pacifism? Puritanism?

During this evening session Linda will share with us something of her own spiritual journey from an Anglican background to her own discovery of Quakerism, its power of silence and its insistence that there is something of God in everyone.

This evening session will begin at 8.00pm and finish at 9.30pm. Refreshments will be served from 7.30pm.

CRESST the Peaks bike ride on Sunday 17 July

There’s something for everyone on our CRESST the Peaks ride on Sunday 17 July. We’ve a traffic free route of up to 27km (17 miles) sandwiched in the middle of a more challenging route from Sheffield, giving a total ride of about 63 km (39 miles). There’s a picnic lunch stop at Heatherdene car park too.

Ageing Without Children Conference 2016

It’s a day for men and women who are 50+ ageing without children, younger people who may be interested and those who are interested from a professional point of view. Men and women ageing without children includes not only those who are child free by circumstance or choice but those who have children who may be estranged from them, or whose children are living abroad, or who may have died.

After Meeting for Worship next Sunday, Friends who were at Yearly Meeting last weekend will be sharing their experiences with us and helping us look forward to Yearly Meeting Gathering next year, to be held at the University of Warwick. So please join us for a shared lunch – we will provide soup and rolls, but together we can make a feast!

There will also be a Traidcraft stall next Sunday after meeting.
