Walking In Sheffield; Sat 12th May, 9.15am

Join me and Zelly the dog for a walk around Mayfield – in May – on Saturday 12th May. Discover this beautiful remnant of northern hill farming on the edge of Sheffield at the time of year when it is probably at its best.

Meet at 9.15am at the Co-op on the corner of Crimicar Lane and Brooklands Avenue. Buses 120, 123, every 10 minutes, 30 mins from the city centre..

Volunteers for CRESST at Peace In The Park - 9th June

CRESST (Conflict Resolution Education in Sheffield Schools) has been chosen as one of the two causes to benefit from this year’s Peace in the Park festival. This is really good news because we hope it will raise our profile with children and young people as well as raising some money.

Our friend Sam Galbraith will be organizing events for children (and the child in all of us) on both Saturdays and Sundays, 2-4pm:

Sat 5th May – 2pm till 4pm “ Butterflies” workshop in basement for children and their adults

Sun 6th May – 2pm till 4pm “Symbol for Play” -individuals and children can come and draw or paint a symbol that explores a past sense of play and then strengthens and explores that symbol in the context of the present day in order to re-inspire a sense of play in our lives. Also in the basement.

The new Quaker weekly meditation group from Fri May 4th

The new Quaker weekly meditation group

The first meeting of the new Quaker weekly meditation group will be held in the Meeting House library on Friday May 4 at 10 am. We will meet at 10:00 to settle down and get centred. The guided meditation will last approximately 30 minutes from 10:30 to 11:00. You are then free to leave if you want — or stay and share your experiences. There will be no fee for this event. We will be practising the Experiment with Light meditation.
